FREEDOM CELEBRATION CANCELLED

Due to some family stresses, the complete closure of Lake Dr and a lack of response about the Free Sale, we have decided to cancel it for this year.

We apologize that this is so last minute. We will be praying about whether or not we should reschedule it for when the road reopens. Let us know if you have any thoughts about it, or if you feel inspired in some way to help with the planning.

This year we might be doing things a little differently

Unfortunately Lake drive is being torn up this summer. It puts a damper on our celebration just a bit. We are trying to find an alternative plan.

Everything turned out wonderful!

We had so much to give away! So many shoppers turned out! We had to use the neighbor's yard on both sides of the house to put everything out! We only had about 5 boxes left over clothes). It was great! The sky was overcast which worked out to be great protection from the sun. We really had a good time and learned a lot this year.

Fox and WZZM 13 did a story on us (just a short blurb). We will try to post both the pictures and the link to the story soon.

Rain information

The weather is calling for rain all morning. We are not worried! If it is raining just give us a call or come hang out with us anyways...we are a fun group!

Our plan is to wait for the rain to end and then set up. We have had to do this in the past and that is fine with us! If you can't be with us because of the change...no worries!

Almost time!

Thank you for all who have been contributing to the "free sale".

If you plan on helping Wednesday: We are going to set up at 9am unless it is raining. You can call us @ 318-1825 or 450-1443 if you have questions. Come when you can!

If you plan on bringing stuff this weekend just drop it onto the front porch. We are running out of room in the basement! This is great problem to have!

Its almost time!

Fourth of July is less than 2 weeks away. We are in need of volunteers! Please call us or email us if you can help (458-7698 or freedomcelebration@gmail.com). We don't need all day commitments just a few hours (our biggest needs is set up and clean up).

Also: we have been praying that a Small Group/ House church would volunteer to bring and serve food. This would be a huge blessing to the event.

If you feel you can meet any of our needs please let us know!

The fourth is right around the corner! Are you excited yet? We are!

Every year this event meets so many needs. We eagerly anticipate the work that God is doing around us. As you read through our blog we hope you will find yourself inspired to join the party!

Time to start Spring Cleaning!!

Hello everyone! It is hard to believe it but the Freedom Celebration is less than two months away! I know that there are many people cleaning their closets out and getting rid of some of that winter excess. Please think of us! While we cannot offer tax write-offs for your gifts (as of yet) we can offer you the satisfaction of knowing that this exciting event has met a lot of needs in our community.

We are taking drop-off's at 733 Lake Dr. (drop it off on the porch any time) or you can call 458-7698 pick up is available for certain areas. Please remember the one and only rule we have regarding your items: No broken Junk! We do not have the means to dispose of your broken items.

Thank you again! Remember to pass this event on to others that might want to be involved or who might be in need!

This is such an exciting event and it gets bigger every year!! We are in need of people to volunteer. There are many opportunities available and you can come for 1 hour or the whole day (every little bit helps). Remember that this event really gives us the opportunity to get to know our neighbors and find out their needs.

Looking forward to the Next Freedom Celebration

Start looking in May or June of next year for information regarding the next freedom celebration. We are going to start collecting stuff for the gathering in the spring. Keep our neighborhood in mind when you are getting rid of your good stuff!
